Opening Events At The Harts Council of 1097 AF

Sir Huw de Grognard
The journey to Winchester was for a change rather uneventful. I was greeted with familiar friends. Already the atmosphere was one of celebration. As ever I was late for the food but that is not everything.
ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT UPON BARON JASPAR AND SIR JONATHAN
A man who resembled Hawkeye walked into the hall. Soon a number realised that there was something was afoot. Despite people’s concern he was able to administer poison to Lady Tarragon’s Bodyguards. He escaped into the deep passages below the castle. A full scale search was swiftly arranged by the real Earl Hawkeye. It was presumed that he was a Mindflayer, like the one who impersonated Floris-Brand a few weeks ago. A number of spellcasters reported later of headaches and this Floris-Brand explained as a disturbance to the Magical Continuum by a mindflayer.
THE KING’S QUEST DAGGER
Elias lead a quest for the King Stephen’s Dagger. A powerful Unliving Knight challenged them saying “Thou shalt not pass.” The party replied, “Oh go on, please.” He said No and almost immediately fell over. A coffin was found and the ancient King Stephen appeared out of it. All those there were struck blind. He gave Elias the dagger. A pair of bandits found that taking on such a party is stupid. One of them was put in jail.
CASTILAN OF HUNTINGDON
I had the pleasure to introduce to the nobles of Albion, the newly appointed Castilan of Huntingdon. I explained the Castilan had the right to bar any wished from Huntingdon when either myself as Sheriff of Huntingdon or Lord General Calin was not present.
RANGERS OF GREENWOOD
The Rangers of Greenwood is a very old institution that through the dark days of recent times have receded from their true path into Skirmishers and trackers that few would surpass. Their natures are as guides for those who are not native of the Greenwood. It is such an honour for the peoples of the Greenwood to attain. The last remaining Rangers were to be found within the Watchers of Darkwood. Darak of the Watchers and George Manwyddon of the Hunters with the assistance of Hunter of the Hawkeshead Archers and Aspen of the Emerald Company have started recruiting suitable replacement to swell their ranks. Both Lord General Calin and I will be consulted. A number have already resumed their duties. Darak escorted Lord Drinin, the High Ambassador of the Dragons back to the Dragon Council in Gorsenwydd, Cymrija. They brought news back to me that I had been outlawed.
CUSTODIAN OF THE HUNTINGDON RITUAL CIRCLE
Recently Godric Elad of the Emerald Company was appointed as the sacred guardian of the Ritual Circle at Huntingdon. His knowledge of the Druidic ways has been much appreciated. Upon my return from Morgan’s Quest after a too close encounter with a Barrow Wight, I sent him with what medical supplies to the Steppes and convey whoever wished back to Huntingdon. He was only accompanied by Lord Drinin, High Ambassador of the Dragons.
STICKSSS CONFUSED
StickssS arrived with Bog and Smael on Saturday morning. He was accompanied by some very unwelcome guest. A force of pallid grey creatures pursued them out of the ritual circle and, after a hard fight, were eradicated. The creatures were all clones.
It was good to see StickssS again. I had not seen him since we were transported to his homeland of Syberia after the disastrous encounter with the Barrow Wight. He informed me that Morgan wished a serious word over this and said that I might like to take precautions.
BOG TALK OF TIMES PAST
Bog was also still troubled by the experiences with the Morgan Quest. Comments about Barrow Wight and Unliving still seem to disturb his restless times. He had taken many weeks to recover physically.
DISAPPEARANCE OF A DARK INCANTOR
A strange man from the Temple of Quendi announced himself as a Dark Incantor to any that he could make to listen. He was injured himself in some way. Some blood was found near the Ritual Circle. According to Silkin ap Palarran of the Dragons, he transported himself from Winchester to a Ritual Circle in Erin where he was chopped up and thrown upon a fire for calling upon Dark Incantations.
