Morgana

Aspects of Morgana
- The NeophyteAs the Neophyte, Morgana represents rebirth and renewal; the time of change and growth. In this aspect Morgana is the hope for the future as yet unknown, and the seeking of knowledge in all its forms. She is the potential of every newborn life.
- The Raven QueenAs the Raven Queen, Morgana represents conflict in all its forms — whether from within and a personal struggle to achieve one’s full power; between competing political and economic interests; or the clash of nations and armies seeking to destroy one another. The Raven Queen is Morgana in her full power and she sees all across battlefields both metaphorical and physical.
- The OracleAs the Oracle, Morgana represents the inevitability of death. She carries the wisdom and knowledge accumulated over a full lifetime. Death is to be welcomed and celebrated as it marks not an end but another transition in the eternal cycle of rebirth and renewal.
Tenets of Morgana
- Pursue the secrets of those that came before.The knowledge forgotten by others is power to those with the wisdom to grasp it.
- Shape the world to your will.Whether by spell, by blade or cunning word — knowledge is as nothing without the will to use it.
- Guard yourself and those that you hold dear.Those who cannot protect their own are of little use to others.
- Never leave to others what you can do yourself.Realise your own fate and do not leave it in the hands of others.
- Embrace that which others fear.Too many condemn that which they do not understand, but the value of knowledge lies in its use and not the eyes of others.
Morgana & Artus
“No orphan is too wretched to find purpose. No king is too great to fall.”
Many tales entwine the fates of Morgana (sometimes named as Morgan, Morgause, or even Morrigan) with that of Artus. Very few speak true however and often Morgana is made a scapegoat for the frailty of men.
In her aspect as Oracle, Morgana foretold the rise and fall of kings and of the knights of legend. Each destined to repeat the Great Cycle in their own way; all eventually returning to the land that birthed them.
Those who feared death and strife heard her words and railed against the inevitable. Rather than learning from the insight that she shared, craven men named Morgana as a witch and claimed that she was the cause of the doom that wracked Albion.
