Battalion Report of 1125

Cornwall
Battalion HQ – Exeter
The Cornish battalion was one of the three that engaged the Skaven at Rattakin Woods
outside of Bristol. There, they suffered many losses. Overall, the morale of the unit is quite
high given the losses they suffered and the loss of Cara. The appointment of Maru as Lady
Protector of Albion has lifted their spirits somewhat, as she does hail from Cornwall. They
specialise in small unit fighting in coastal or very heavy ground tactics. Traditional is made
up of even numbers of light and medium skirmishers. In times of need, they can bolster the
Navy’s marine divisions, as they hold to their history when in times past, they were drawn
from the local wreckers and pirates that frequented the Cornish coast. Recruitment has been
steady in the duchy with

formation has come about due to the land in Gloucester (Green Wood) and the threat of

Keswick
Battalion HQ – Keswick
This unit has seen the least service over the last few years, now back at full strength, they
suffered a big loss of morale with the death of Wyndrake. With the benefit of Maru’s
guidance of Albion, this unit once again feels as if it has a sense of worth to Albion.
Specialising in hill and mountain fighting, they are also adept at fighting for prolonged period

Winchester
Battalion HQ – Winchester
Tasked with guarding the Royal Palace and the throne of Albion while in the capital. Their
number dwindled in the time of Queen Eloise when she moved the court from Winchester.
Made up of both light and heavy troops over the years, they have developed a reputation for
attracting spellcasters.  Like the Cornish battalion, they too were involved in the fighting at
Rattakins Wood against the Skaven, their losses were not as great as the Cornish. The great
loss was in the officers and high-ranking NCOS who were lost. They are sorely in need of
guidance

York
Battalion HQ – York
The York Battalion prides itself on being the shield wall of Albion. Having seen plenty of
action over the last few years, and along the coastline to protect. They have gained many
honours in their history from the taking of York from the Akaria, fighting the forces of the
Conclave and Alder-York. Over the previous years’ work by Charles Falcon and others has
brought the strength back up. They specialise in heavy line fighting, shield wall and line
breaking; made up of arches and heavy infantry with spellcasters and incantors. Thanks
largely to the influence of Lady Madeline Falcon, the battalion incant in the name of the
Mother.
Current Status
250 of 300 archers
75 of 100 pure spellcasters and incantors (even split)
550 of 600 heavy infantry interspersed with spellcasters (1%) and incantors (6%). House

The Circle Guard (Blues and
Royals)
Battalion HQ – Milford
These troops guard the circles of Albion as a primary role, but can be used in support as
incantors or infantry should it be required. Every member of the battalion is an incantor with
the distinction of allowing service to any ancestor Albion or otherwise, with many of their
number following a dark aspect. Currently, this unit is at full strength as recruitment was
made that much easier with the first Lord Marshal drawn from their order.
Current Status
300 of 300 light infantry/incantor
400 of 400 medium infantry/incantor
300 of 300 heavy infantry/incantor

Navy (incl Marines)
Headquarters – Southampton
The Albion Navy has the distinction of being one of the finest in the Heartlands, with past
leaders like Marcellus Castiglione and Albert Prynce leading from the front. Thanks to

charismatic leaders up to and including Viceroy Carlotta, they have no shortage of recruits
wanting to join. The introduction of spellcasters and incantors into the marines has only
further aided recruitment. The Northern fleet and Marines serve as one battalion, and the
same for the Southern fleet and Marines.
Current Status
 1000 of 1000 sailors (light skirmishers/infantry)
1000 of 1000 Marines
750 medium Skirmishers/ infantry.
250 Heavy skirmishers/ infantry.

As of the end of 1124, the Albion military was under strength by two full battalions. With the
death of Wyndrake, the Winterheart Guard withdrew from service. The 1 st Tooth and Claw
were wiped out to the last Beastkin in the battle of Rattakin Wood. The advice for the Lord
Marshal and his generals is to seek permission to form or recruit new battalions.

Yours in service
Ashun
