A Brief Explanation of the Court Structure

The King’s Council shall revert to the form created by HM Queen Eloise. There shall be only a small number of permanent seats on this council, with the Throne calling to Council those members deemed to be required at the time of sitting.

The Royal Council as it has previously stood was dissolved by HM King Wyndrake in 1118. There shall now stand three permanent councils, each chaired by a member of the King’s Council.

The Council of Ministers shall be tasked with the guidance and teaching of the People of Albion, and shall be overseen by the Lord High Seneschal, Archduke of Poynton.

The Council of Stewards shall be tasked with the guidance and guardianship of the Land of Albion, and shall be overseen by the Lord High Steward, Archduke of Naseby.

The Council of Aldermen shall be tasked with the guidance and maintenance of the Spirit of Albion, and shall be overseen by the Lord High Chamberlain, Archduke of Wickham.

The Council of Ministers is to be led by the Lord High Seneschal. This council shall be comprised of the Great Offices of the Realm and their deputies. The duties of this council shall be the administration and governance of the realm.

The Council of Stewards is to be led by the Lord High Steward. This council shall be comprised of those who hold landed rank. The duties of this council shall be to guard and guide the land of Albion.

The Council of Aldermen is to be led by the Lord High Chamberlain. This council shall be comprised of those who have served in high office (either as a Great Officer or as a Duke or Duchess), alongside the Lord Generals of the Great Houses, and those who have served the Realm in place of the Pendragon Throne. The duties of this council shall be to use their acquired wisdom and experience to advice the Throne and Councils.

It will be the duty of the Council of Aldermen to make recommendations to the Throne as to which members of the faction merit consideration for the highest levels of training.

Additionally, the Council of Aldermen shall receive representations from houses and groups within Albion to put forward candidates for consideration for appointment to the position of People’s Champion – the successful recipient of said position shall be rewarded with a ritual.

It shall also be the duty of the Council of Aldermen to make record of noteworthy deeds in the service of the realm to be commended and possibly rewarded as part of the Midwinter Honours

More detail on the Court Structure shall be available in time.
