The Namexia call the Harts and allies to arms, 1126
Corvids remember the faces of those who have done them wrong. They tell their friends and allies. They seek revenge.
As you may and should know, we think of our Ancestor Nethras most often in 3 of her aspects.
The Maiden is the beginning. She is the first step on a journey, the question yet to be answered, the dream of things not yet come to pass. Promise, vigour, and potential.
The Mother is our care-giver. She teaches us acts of service and strength. She is the work of many hands making light of a task, the raising of a nation, and the fierce wing around the flock.
The Crone leads us towards our ending. She is wisdom, she is knowledge. She is justice and vengeance. She is the memory of the names, stories, songs, and all that must not be forgotten.
At the Gathering of Nations, our Lady Protector fell. The people of the Namexia tribe carried Maru to the Plain of Bones. In the pouring rain we laid her upon the ancient stones of the Dragonspine, beneath the full moon of the Mother, crows screaming overhead.
“When the body is gone,” the Crone elders say, “the story continues in the living.”
Vortigern may have taken her from us.
But he has not taken her story.
We remember her name. We remember everything she has built.
And so our Lady Protector is still with us – in every story and in every person who learns of her name and her deeds.
I ask all who join us at Forest Glen – make your preparations to journey to the Plane of the Dead. If we do not return, let the people of our nations continue to tell our stories. Carry our names. Let them live on in those who come after us. The stories continue in the living.
May the Crone guide us as we seek our justice. May she lead us forth to bring our vengeance. May the crows who circle the battlefield come for more of his than ours.
So mote it be.
