Tenets of the Hunter

Librarians note:
Research suggests that these tenets are not adhered to by all followers of the Hunter, although they were adopted by The Order of the Stag. They have been transcribed in variant forms since 1108 with some differences introduced from time to time. Two common transcriptions follow. Rumour has it that Sir Gawain has referred to them directly.

Nature is a thing of both beauty and danger. Respect it and prosper by its bounty. Fail to do so go (so) and your pride will be your undoing.

Stand strog (strong) as a pack behind a single Alpha. Where one leads all others should follow, and woe betide those who would stand in their path.
Those who will not stand with the Pack will surely die alone. Those who would challenge the Alpha had best be sure they win for such challenges are always answered in blood.

Morality is the hiding place of the fearful. Those who lack the will to act seek to justify their cowardice by teaching others to be likewise. Guilt and conscience are merely other names for fear.

Men and women are not the same; nor should they be. Each sex has something to offer the other. And from their differences comes strength. Marriage is the celebration of the unity between the Hunter and the Mother.

Honour and commonly held morality are a lie, the beliefs of the minority retold as truth and reinforced over time. No weapon or tactic cannot be justified in the cause of freedom or defence of the pack.

Pride is the sin of civilisation , wrath is that of the barbarian. The proud should be shown their foolishness and fallibility. The wrathful should be taught to see the humour in the world. Both proud and the wrathful are easy prey to those who are quick of wits. The mind is the greatest weapon possessed by man and those who neglect it do so at their own peril.

All creatures were born free and should be allowed to live so. To unite in a common case benefits all, but the imposition of ones mans will upon another is an evil.

No secret is lost, secrets are held in trust for the younger races. Some secrets should only be reveal when the child is ready for them.

To work as a pack to used every ones skills is better to stand alone. No hunter is so mighty he can stand alone.

Stories and tales preserve things and pass on lessons that should not be forgotten.

NB – This seems to be post Empire teachings of the Empire and precede the recent Cataclysm.

The Tennets of the Hunter

The Hunter is the spirit of the people and the land and he teaches that they must be in balance. He guilds his followers to work hard and to gain strength through toil/effort. He teaches people to work as one, to protect their comrades and their families. He is also a ruthless enemy who when crossed will destroy those who betrayed him. He teaches morality is a fiction and all there is, is predator, your pack and the prey.

Man was given gifts that he might choose his own destiny:
Will to lead
Language to Cooperate
Empathy to understand
Cunning to overcome

All of Nature was set before him; not only as domain but as provider, teacher, and when necessary punisher. Those who accept these gifts become predators striving to fulfill their potential. Those who do not are prey and fall by the wayside.

Nature is a thing of both beauty and danger. Respect it and prosper by its bounty. Fail to do so go (so) and your pride will be your undoing.

Alpha
Puck
Consort
Woodsman

NB – This mentions both Puck and Nethras and is probably the more recent of the two. I also feel that this is written by a non follower or scholar for the benefit of learning/teaching about the ways of Hunter followers
