Letter from Dunamace Strongarm of Eaton, Nord-Draco Herald-Pursuivant of Arms in Ordinary, Royal College of Heralds

Sir,

Having set to work on the opus which you have set before us, the Royal College of Heralds has been hard at work for some time now. Indeed, we have, for the first time in many years, sent junior heralds into the field to continue their work.

Though there were many political marriages with other nations throughout the history of our realm, not all of them were recorded in the annals or rolls. Indeed, in our studies we have discovered some documents we believed to exist no longer do, or that some have been seemingly maliciously vandalised.

In tracing bloodlines, we have found the following areas which may be of interest to you:

During the reign of Beatrice, a male of the Royal Line of Pendragon was married into the House Domingo of Estragales. I am afraid we cannot be more specific than this.

During the reign of Arthur IV, a Princess of the Royal Line of Pendragon was married into the House Saxe-Coburg of Teutonia. I am afraid we cannot be more specific than this.

During the reign of Stephen III, a Princess of the Royal Line of Pendragon was married into the Clan MacBeth of Caledonia. We believe this to have been an element of a peace accord between the two realms. I am afraid we cannot be more specific than this.

During the reign of  Edward, Matthew, the Heir to the Throne, renounced his claim, and disappeared from court. We believe that he may have eventually settled on either Orlaine or Sarnia. I am afraid we cannot be more specific than this.

I regret to inform you that there are some documents relating to lineage which, though they are indeed in our archives, without the written consent of the Lords General of the Council of Albion, we will not make available to you. This access requirement is a hangover from the days of the council, which has not yet been altered.

I only mention this, in a complete break with the tradition of confidentiality of our art, for the reason that, having discussed it with my fellow Heralds Pursuivant, we are all very much in support of the cause of returning the Rightful Heir to the Pendragon Throne, and though I could not possibly discuss such lineages, they may well be worth casting your eye over.

Your servant,

In arms,

Dunamace Strongarm
